Import and export reviews

Import reviews from another platform with a CSV file, and export your published reviews as CSV or JSON.

Import product reviews and company reviews from your previous reviews platform with a CSV file, so your pages show reviews from day one. Export the reviews Cevoid has collected as CSV or JSON. Both run in the background.

Navigate to Settings → Import & export to import or export reviews.

How importing reviews works

When you import reviews, Cevoid suggests which column of your file holds each field and previews the first 30 rows. Once you start, it imports the valid rows in the background, with their photos and videos, and checks each review for safety.

Imported reviews are published as soon as Cevoid's safety analysis finishes. Your hold rules and auto-publish setting don't apply, since the reviews were moderated on your previous platform. While a review is analyzed, it's in none of your review tabs.

You can also import reviews one at a time through the Cevoid API, which the developer docs cover.

Import reviews from a CSV file

To see the columns Cevoid expects, click Download sample CSV in the import editor.

Upload and map your file

  1. Navigate to Settings → Import & export
  2. Click Import in the Product reviews or Company reviews row. The import editor opens.
  3. Select the Source platform your file was exported from
  4. Click Choose CSV and select your file. Cevoid analyzes it and maps the columns it recognizes.
  5. Select a column for any field under Required mappings and Optional mappings that Cevoid didn't map
  6. Check the preview. Its badge shows No issues or the number of issues: hover over it to see them.
  7. Optional: Click Save draft to finish later

You can also open the import editor from Reviews → Product reviews or Reviews → Company reviews, under More → Import reviews.

Start the import

  1. Navigate to Settings → Import & export and open the import draft under Activity
  2. Click Start import
  3. Select I understand these reviews are published once analyzed, and confirm this import. For an Amazon or Etsy file, also select the box that confirms you have permission to import its reviews.
  4. Click Start import. The import's progress opens.

Rows with issues are skipped and listed in the error report.

Note:

Only the team member who created an import can change, start, or stop it. Anyone on your team can undo it or download its files.

Source platforms

The source platform decides which column headings Cevoid tries first when it maps your file.

Source platformWhat it changes
Judge.me, Junip, Loox, Okendo, REVIEWS.io, Shopify Product Reviews, Stamped, Trustpilot, YotpoCevoid tries that platform's headings, then common headings such as rating or email
Generic CSVCevoid tries common headings only
CevoidFor files exported from Cevoid. Adds the Cevoid review ID field
Amazon marketplace, Etsy marketplaceYou confirm you have permission to import these reviews before you start

Cevoid saves the platform on each review, shown as Imported · Judge.me in its details, and uses it to recognize reviews you import again.

CSV columns

Map each field to one column of your file. Cevoid matches headings without case, spaces, or hyphens, so Reviewer Email matches reviewer_email. Product reviews need at least one of the 5 product identifiers.

FieldRequiredWhat it holds
RatingYesA whole number from 1 to 5. 4.5 or 10 fails the row
Reviewer emailYesThe reviewer's email. Each email is one reviewer profile
Catalog product IDProduct identifierCevoid's ID for the product. When mapped, it decides the product on its own
Product external IDProduct identifierThe product's ID on your ecommerce platform, such as the Shopify product ID
Product URLProduct identifierThe product page's full URL
Product GTINProduct identifierThe product's GTIN or barcode
Product SKUProduct identifierThe product's SKU
TitleNoThe review's title
BodyNoThe review's text. A row with a rating and no title, text, or media imports as a star-only rating
Submitted atNoWhen the review was written: 2026-07-21, or a date and time with a time zone, such as 2026-07-14T09:30:00Z
Reviewer nameNoThe name for a new reviewer profile
MarketNoThe market's ID, name, or country code. Empty: your default market
LanguageNoThe review's language, such as en. Empty: the market's language
Is incentivizedNotrue or false, yes or no, y or n, 1 or 0. Empty means no. Company reviews can't be imported as incentivized
Is insiderNoThe same values. Marks the review as written by someone at your brand
Media URLsNoPublic photo and video URLs, separated by commas
Question answersNoAnswers to your review questions, as a JSON list. Use it with files exported from Cevoid
Source review IDNoThe review's ID on your previous platform. Lets Cevoid recognize the review if you import it again
Cevoid review IDNoSource Cevoid only. Updates a review imported into this workspace before. Any other ID fails the row
Product titleNoThe product name saved on the review. It doesn't decide the product

How Cevoid matches products

Cevoid matches each product review to a product in your synced catalog. Values must match exactly, including case.

  • A mapped Catalog product ID decides on its own. If it doesn't match, the row fails.
  • Otherwise Cevoid tries Product external ID, then Product URL, then Product GTIN, then Product SKU, and uses the first that matches
  • A row fails, and isn't imported, when its product isn't found, matches more than one product, or is on your review blocklist. The preview and the error report list it.

Photos and videos

Cevoid downloads each photo and video in Media URLs and keeps its own copy. The URLs must be public, and Cevoid doesn't follow redirects. A file that can't be downloaded is listed in the error report, and the review imports without it.

Follow an import

An import's progress opens when you start it. To find it again, open it under Activity on Settings → Import & export. While a review import runs, its badge shows the step it's on, such as Checking review safety, and the import is Completed once every imported review is checked. Every status an import can have is in Run statuses.

Click View reviews in the import to list its reviews.

Stop import ends a running import, and the reviews it already imported stay. See Stop an import.

Error report

The error report lists what an import couldn't bring in. Download it for 7 days, with Download error report in the import or in its ... menu under Activity.

  • The file, review-import-errors.csv, has the columns row, column, code, and reason
  • It lists failed rows, photo and video URLs that couldn't be imported, and rows skipped because the reviewer already reviewed the product or your store
  • Row numbers count the header as row 1, so your first review is row 2

Reviews Cevoid skips or updates

Each reviewer can have one review per product and one company review. Cevoid skips a row when its reviewer already has a pending or published review of the product, or a company review, from any source or an earlier row.

Skip reviews already imported from this source is on by default. Cevoid recognizes a review by its Source review ID or, without one, by the same row in the same file.

  • On: Rows already imported from the same platform are skipped
  • Off: Cevoid updates the review it imported before. The rating, title, text, date, and answers are replaced, new photos and videos are added, and the review is checked and published again. A review your team rejected stays rejected.

A row with a Cevoid review ID always updates that review.

What imported reviews do

Imported reviews work like other reviews, except here:

AreaImported reviews
Review requests and your storeCount as reviewed: the reviewer isn't asked again, and can't write a second review of the same product or of your store
Flows and team emailsStart no flows, such as thank-you emails, and send your team no review notifications
Verified buyerMatched once, at import, against orders already synced. See Verified reviews
Badge without an orderVerified identity
Reviewer nameA new profile gets the file's name, or "Imported reviewer". An existing profile keeps its name, and your store shows that name
DateYour store and your review lists show and sort them by the day they were imported. The file's date is kept, in exports and as Written at in the review's details
Reviewer editsNot possible: imported reviews have no update link

Imported reviews without an order show Verified identity, so make sure your file holds only authentic reviews.

Undo an import

Undo deletes the reviews an import created, for example after a wrong mapping. Each import can be undone once.

  1. Navigate to Settings → Import & export
  2. Open the import under Activity
  3. Click Undo import
  4. Click Undo import again to confirm
Warning:

Undo deletes every review the import created, including reviews you've published or replied to since. It can't be reversed. Reviews the import only updated stay as they are.

To delete a single imported review instead, see Review details.

Export reviews

Export your published reviews to keep a copy or move them to another tool. The file includes reviewers' names and emails.

  1. Navigate to Settings → Import & export
  2. Click Export in the Product reviews or Company reviews row
  3. Select a Format: CSV or JSON
  4. Optional: Set the Date range. It filters reviews by the date they were submitted.
  5. Click Start export
  6. Select I confirm I am authorized to export reviewer personal information
  7. Click Start export again

When the file is ready, Cevoid emails you a link. Click Download export in the export, or in its ... menu under Activity. The download expires after 7 days.

CSV files can be imported back into Cevoid with the source platform Cevoid. JSON files keep nested data, such as replies, structured.

Exports hold only published reviews, from all time by default, with their content, reviewer, market, verification, product, replies, and question answers. Up to 3 exports can wait to run at a time.
