Klaviyo

Connect Klaviyo to send Cevoid events and profile data to Klaviyo, and forward marketing consent.

The Klaviyo integration connects your Klaviyo accounts to Cevoid. Cevoid sends events and profile data to Klaviyo, so you can trigger flows and build segments there, and forwards marketing consent collected in Cevoid widgets. You can connect multiple Klaviyo accounts to the same workspace.

Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo to manage your Klaviyo integration.

Connect a Klaviyo account

You can connect multiple Klaviyo accounts to your Cevoid workspace. Each connection is linked to a specific store in your workspace. In a workspace that uses product feeds, each connection is linked to a market instead. Each store or market takes one Klaviyo account.

Your first account:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo
  2. Click Enable
  3. Klaviyo opens. Approve the requested permissions to authorize the connection. You're redirected back to Cevoid.
  4. Open the account in the Connections section
  5. Select this account's store under Store. In a workspace that uses product feeds, select its market under Market.
  6. Click Save changes

Another account:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo
  2. Click Add account in the Connections section. New Klaviyo connection opens.
  3. Select the store you want to link this Klaviyo account to. In a workspace that uses product feeds, select the market.
  4. Click Create connection
  5. Klaviyo opens. Approve the requested permissions to authorize the connection. You're redirected back to Cevoid.

Once connected, the account appears in your Connections list with a Connected status. When every store or market already has an account, New Klaviyo connection shows No stores available or No markets available.

Configure event sharing

Events let you trigger email flows in Klaviyo based on activities in Cevoid. Events are configured globally and apply to all connected Klaviyo accounts. With several accounts, each profile's events go only to the account of its market: see Several Klaviyo accounts.

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo
  2. Click Edit events in the Events section
  3. Enable the events you want to sync to Klaviyo
  4. Click Save

Events are sent to Klaviyo in real time when they occur. Each event includes relevant data that you can use in your email content. For example, the Cevoid: Reward Fulfilled event includes reward details, and the Cevoid: Tier Earned event includes tier information and entry rewards connected to that tier.

For a complete list of available events and their payloads, see Profile data and event sharing.

Review events and review requests aren't in Edit events. A flow in Settings → Flows sends them: see Send review events and Review requests.

Send a test event

You can send a test event to verify your setup. Cevoid sends the event to a test profile in the Klaviyo account you select, with sample data.

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo
  2. Click Edit events in the Events section
  3. Click the play icon next to an event. The event's test dialog opens, with the data the event sends under Event payload preview.
  4. Select the Klaviyo account to send to under Select Integration
  5. Click Send test event. A Success message appears, with a link to the test profile in Klaviyo: View the event details.

Configure profile data sharing

Profile data keeps your Klaviyo profiles in sync with information collected in Cevoid. Profile data is configured globally and applies to all connected Klaviyo accounts.

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo
  2. Click Edit fields in the Profile Data section
  3. Enable the profile data fields you want to sync to Klaviyo
  4. Click Save

Profile data syncs automatically when it is collected or updated in Cevoid. The data appears as custom properties on the corresponding Klaviyo profile.

For a complete list of available profile data fields, see Profile data and event sharing.

Tip:

Use the Test Profile button in the Profile Data modal to preview how profile data appears in Klaviyo.

Sync existing profiles to Klaviyo

When you first enable profile data sharing or add new fields, existing profiles in Cevoid are not automatically synced. Use the manual sync to push existing profile data to Klaviyo. It needs at least one enabled profile data field, and you can start it once every 15 minutes.

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo
  2. Click Sync profiles in the Profile Data section
  3. Select the Klaviyo account to sync with under Account
  4. Optional: Enable Sync specific segments and select the segments to sync
  5. Click Sync profiles. A Job started message appears, and the sync runs in the background.

Before you start, Sync profiles shows how many profiles will be synced. Profiles that don't exist in Klaviyo are created only when Profile sync behavior is Create profile.

General settings

General settings control global Klaviyo behavior for all connected accounts.

Profile sync behavior

Profile sync behavior determines what happens when Cevoid tries to sync data to a profile that doesn't exist in Klaviyo.

OptionDescription
Create profileCevoid creates the profile in Klaviyo automatically
Don't create profileCevoid skips profiles that don't exist in Klaviyo

By default, Profile sync behavior is set to Don't create profile, so Cevoid only syncs profiles that already exist in Klaviyo. You can't switch to Don't create profile while you have a single-task activity with the Klaviyo newsletter subscription task.

Connection settings

Each connected Klaviyo account has individual settings that control how profiles are handled for that specific connection.

To access connection settings:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo
  2. Open a connected account in the Connections section
  3. Click Save changes after you change a setting

Available settings

SettingDescription
StoreThe store in your workspace that this Klaviyo account is linked to
MarketIn a workspace that uses product feeds, the market this Klaviyo account is linked to, in place of Store
Add new profiles to listAdds profiles that didn't exist in Klaviyo before to the Klaviyo list you select
Forward email marketing opt-in event to KlaviyoForwards opt-ins to email marketing made through Cevoid widgets to Klaviyo, as subscriptions on the Klaviyo list you select
Forward email marketing opt-out event to KlaviyoForwards opt-outs from your program made through Cevoid widgets to Klaviyo, and shows once opt-in forwarding is enabled

When marketing consent forwarding is enabled, marketing consent collected through Cevoid widgets is forwarded to Klaviyo. This applies to consent collected during program opt-in or through other Cevoid widgets where marketing consent is requested.

With opt-out forwarding enabled, a profile that opts out of your program through a Cevoid widget is unsubscribed from email marketing in Klaviyo, but only when its consent in Klaviyo came from Cevoid. While a single-task activity with the Klaviyo newsletter subscription task is live, you can't disable opt-in forwarding.

Several Klaviyo accounts

When you have multiple Klaviyo accounts connected to your workspace, Cevoid routes profiles based on their market to avoid multiple accounts sending emails to the same person.

One Klaviyo account connected: Profiles sync to that account regardless of which market they belong to.

Multiple Klaviyo accounts connected: Profiles only sync to the Klaviyo account linked to the store of their market, or to their market in a workspace that uses product feeds. This prevents duplicate emails from different regional accounts. See What market a profile is connected to.

In both cases, profiles with an email that already exists in Klaviyo sync automatically. Profiles with an email that doesn't exist in Klaviyo only sync if you've set Profile sync behavior to Create profile.

Disconnect a Klaviyo account

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo
  2. Open the connected account you want to remove
  3. Click Disable
  4. Click Confirm in Are you sure?

Disconnecting stops all data syncing and event sharing with that Klaviyo account. Historical data that was already synced remains in Klaviyo.

Troubleshooting

When a Klaviyo connection needs attention, its badge in the Connections section on Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo no longer reads Connected. Click the connection to open its page, which shows an alert.
