Redeemable rewards

Let members redeem their points for rewards.

Redeemable rewards let members exchange their points for rewards, which they browse and redeem in your program widgets. You define which rewards are available and how many points each costs. All reward types except points can be added as redeemable rewards.

Navigate to Loyalty → Redeemable rewards to manage your redeemable rewards.

The page shows Redemptions, Redeemers, Redemption rate, and Active redeemable rewards, and a table of your rewards with the tabs All, Live, Paused, Ended, and Drafts.

How redemptions work

Points are taken when a member redeems a reward. A member without enough points can't redeem it. A discount code is created on the store where the member redeems it.

If a redemption fails, nothing is refunded automatically: the points stay spent, and the redemption still counts toward the reward's limits, until you retry or cancel it. Cancelling gives the points back. See Reward fulfillment.

Create a redeemable reward

  1. Navigate to Loyalty → Redeemable rewards
  2. Click New reward
  3. Select a reward type. A draft reward is created at 100 points, and its settings open.
  4. Configure the reward's settings
  5. Click Save changes
  6. Click Set live when ready

Settings

Once a live or paused reward has been redeemed, all its settings are locked.

General

General settings are the basic information about the reward that members see when browsing redeemable rewards.

SettingDescription
TitleName shown to members, 3 to 100 characters
DescriptionOptional details about the reward, at most 150 characters
Points to redeemHow many points it costs, a whole number

Reward

Configure what members receive when they redeem. Settings vary by reward type. Points can't be a redeemable reward. See Available rewards for details.

Redemption limitations

SettingDescription
Maximum redemptions per memberLimit how many times each member can redeem this reward
Maximum supply availableLimit the total number of redemptions across all members

Both settings are optional. Leave them unchecked for unlimited redemptions.

Participants

Control who can see and redeem this reward in Who can see this redeemable reward and participate?: Anyone (default), Only program members, Selected segments, Members of tier(s), or Selected profiles. See Who can participate for what each option means.

Date

Control when the reward is available for redemption.

SettingDescription
Start dateWhen the reward becomes available
Select an end dateOptional. Enable it to set when the reward stops being available

Statuses

Each redeemable reward has a status that determines whether members can see and redeem it.

StatusDescription
LiveAvailable for redemption
PausedTemporarily unavailable. Members cannot redeem, but the reward remains visible to your team
DraftNot yet launched. Configure settings before going live
EndedNo longer available. Kept for reporting purposes

To change a reward's status, open the reward and click More in the top right. From there you can pause or end the reward, edit or translate it, and delete a draft or a reward with no redemptions. To resume a paused reward, click Set live.

Note:

Ended rewards cannot be reactivated. To offer the same reward again, create a new one.

View redemptions

Open any redeemable reward to see redemption details and track performance.

The overview shows key metrics:

MetricDescription
RedemptionsTotal number of times this reward has been redeemed
RedeemersNumber of unique members who have redeemed
Redemption member ratePercentage of all your members who have redeemed this reward
Redemption rateRedemptions per redeemer, as a percentage

Below the metrics, you'll find a list of all redemptions showing the member name, fulfillment status, and redemption date. Use the search to find specific members. Open a redemption to see it in reward fulfillment, where you can retry or cancel it.

Customer experience

Members redeem rewards in your Redeemable rewards widget:

  1. The member clicks Redeem on a reward
  2. "Are you sure?" asks them to confirm
  3. "Reward redeemed" shows, and the reward is added to their rewards

If the member's profile is tied to another store, "Are you in the right store?" asks first, with Continue here and Go to correct store. A member without enough points sees how many points they still need, such as "100 points left", and one at the limit sees "Max redeems reached". Visitors who aren't signed in see Sign in to redeem. A reward that's still being delivered says "This reward is being processed."
