Reviews

Collect product and company reviews after customers buy, moderate and answer them, and show them on your store and in Google.

Cevoid Reviews collects reviews from your customers after they buy, helps your team moderate and answer them, and shows them on your store with review widgets and star ratings in Google Search.

Reviews needs an active Reviews plan: see Plans that include Reviews. This guide introduces how Reviews works and where to start.

Product reviews and company reviews

Reviews come in two types. Each has its own list in the app, its own review form, its own review requests, and its own widgets.

TypeWhat the customer reviewsShown in
Product reviewOne product they bought: a star rating, text, and optionally a title, photos, and videos, plus answers to your product questionsProduct pages, collection, category, and brand pages, and curated widgets such as a homepage carousel
Company reviewYour brand and the shopping experience, such as delivery and customer service. Each customer can leave oneCompany widgets anywhere on your site, such as a trust bar or an About page

A review with stars and no text, title, or visible photos or videos is a star-only rating. It counts toward the average rating, but widgets don't list it.

How Reviews works

Reviews follows four steps: set it up once, then collect, moderate, and showcase reviews as orders come in.

  1. Set up. Sync your orders, add the Cevoid script to your store, and publish a review request flow. The Things to do list on Reviews → Overview shows the steps that are still open.
  2. Collect. A flow sends a review request a set time after an order is fulfilled or delivered. Customers can also write a review from a widget on your store or from their Shopify customer account, and you can import reviews from your previous platform.
  3. Moderate. Cevoid analyzes every new review. By default, it then publishes the review, unless a hold rule keeps it pending for your team: a low rating, profanity, personal information, harmful content, or signs of a fake review. Reply publicly under a review, or privately by email.
  4. Showcase. Review widgets show reviews and ratings on your store, in your customers' languages. Rich snippets let Google show your product ratings in search results.

Reviews written from a review request are marked Verified buyer. Reviews from your store are matched to your customers' orders.
