Outbox

Follow every email and event your flows send, see why a delivery didn't go out, and skip, retry, or replay it.

Outbox lists every delivery your flows make: each email Cevoid sends, and each event it hands to Klaviyo, Voyado, or a webhook. Use it to see what's scheduled, what went out, and why a delivery didn't.

Navigate to Outbox to follow your deliveries.

How Outbox works

Outbox shows one row per delivery, in three tabs. Each tab shows how many deliveries it holds.

TabWhat it showsDate columnSorted by
QueueDeliveries scheduled to send, being sent, or waiting to be tried againScheduled forSoonest first
SentDeliveries that went outSentNewest first
IncompleteDeliveries that failed or were skippedLast attemptNewest first
  • A delivery appears in Queue once its flow schedules it. When a Wait step comes right before the action, the delivery appears as soon as the wait starts, scheduled for when it ends.
  • Each review request reminder is a row of its own, marked Reminder 1, Reminder 2, and so on
  • Deliveries from a flow's test run show a Test badge. A test email goes to the team member who started the run.
  • Outbox keeps a delivery for 24 months after it's sent, fails, or is canceled
  • Flows, in the upper right corner, opens Settings → Flows
ColumnWhat it shows
Scheduled for, Sent, or Last attemptThe date for the tab you're on
ActionWhat was sent: the email template's name, the event name for Klaviyo or Voyado, or the flow action for a webhook
FlowThe flow that made the delivery. Click it to open the flow
RecipientThe customer's name and email, or Anonymous. For a webhook, the destination's name and host
StatusHow far the delivery got. See Delivery statuses

What Outbox lists

Outbox lists the deliveries of every flow action:

Flow actionDelivered byAlso in Reviews → Requests
Product review request, Company review requestCevoid email, Klaviyo, Voyado, or a webhookYes, except webhook deliveries
Public reply notification, Private reply notificationCevoid emailNo

Reviews → Requests shows the same review requests, with the same tabs, details, and actions, plus Always skip on scheduled requests, but no filters. What's particular to review requests is in Request tracking.

Delivery statuses

A delivery's Status in Outbox shows the furthest step it reached. An email that was opened and then clicked shows Clicked. Hover over a status to see what it means.

StatusWhat it means
ScheduledQueued to send later
SendingCevoid is sending it now
SentThe email is on its way to the inbox
DeliveredThe email reached the inbox
OpenedThe email was opened

Deliveries to Klaviyo, Voyado, or a webhook stay Accepted: what happens next is up to that service.

Find a delivery

Outbox search finds emails by the address Cevoid sent them to. Filters narrow the tab you're on by what a delivery is, where it went, and what made it.

  1. Navigate to Outbox
  2. Click Queue, Sent, or Incomplete
  3. Click the search and filter button in the upper right corner of the list. The search box and the filters open.
  4. Enter an email address in the search box, or click Filter, then select a filter and its values
  5. Optional: Click Cancel to clear your search and filters
FilterWhat it narrows the list to
TypeMessage for emails Cevoid sends, and Event for deliveries to Klaviyo, Voyado, or a webhook
SourceReviews for review requests, reply notifications, and thank-you emails, and Platform for other actions and every webhook delivery
PurposeWhat the delivery is for: Reviews review request, Reviews reply notification, Reviews post submission for thank-you emails, Platform workflow message for other Cevoid emails, Platform integration event for other Klaviyo and Voyado events, or Platform webhook delivery
ActionWhere it went: Cevoid email, Klaviyo, Voyado, or Webhook
FlowWhat made it, such as Flow for a flow's run, Flow test for a test run, or Webhook replay for a replay
Created dateWhen the delivery was created
Webhook destinationDeliveries to the webhook destinations you select

Open a delivery's details

Delivery details in Outbox shows everything about one delivery: where it went, why it wasn't sent, and what happened to it.

  1. Navigate to Outbox
  2. Click Queue, Sent, or Incomplete
  3. Click the delivery's row. Delivery details opens.
RowWhat it shows

Original delivery, ReplayFor a replayed webhook delivery: Open original and Open replay switch between the two

A row shows only when it applies. Under Activity, a timeline shows what happened:

  • Emails: Email sent, Email delivered, Opened the email, Clicked a link in the email with the product that was clicked, Submitted a review, and any delays, bounces, spam reports, or unsubscribes. Once the email is sent, Preview shows it.
  • Klaviyo, Voyado, and webhook deliveries: Each attempt and its result, such as Succeeded, Retrying, or Failed. For a webhook, the HTTP response too.

Skip, send now, retry, or replay a delivery

The ... menu on a delivery's row in Outbox holds the actions that delivery allows. The same menu is at the top of its Delivery details. Emails that Cevoid sends can only be skipped.

  1. Navigate to Outbox
  2. Click the tab the delivery is in: Queue, Sent, or Incomplete
  3. Click ... in the delivery's row
  4. Select Skip, Send now, Retry, or Replay as new delivery. A message confirms it, such as Delivery skipped.
ActionAvailable forWhat it does
SkipEvery delivery with the status ScheduledCancels it. It moves to Incomplete as Cancelled, with the reason Skipped by operator
Send nowScheduled deliveries to Klaviyo, Voyado, or a webhookSends it now instead of at its scheduled time
RetryIncomplete deliveries to Klaviyo, Voyado, or a webhook whose reason can be retried, up to 3 timesQueues the same delivery again
Replay as new deliveryWebhook deliveriesCreates a new delivery of the same event, with a new event ID, to the same destination. See Webhooks via Flows
  • Retry asks you to confirm Retry with duplicate risk? when the reason is Provider outcome unknown, because the first delivery may have arrived. Click Retry anyway to retry.
  • Replay as new delivery asks you to confirm Replay as a new webhook delivery?. Click Create replay. The replay starts as a new delivery in Queue.

Automatic retries

When a delivery in Outbox fails for a temporary reason, such as Provider unavailable, Cevoid tries again on its own, waiting longer each time. It tries up to 4 more times over about 7 hours, or up to 6 more times over about 21 hours for a webhook. When the receiving service asks for a longer wait, Cevoid waits that long.

While it waits, the delivery is back in Queue as Scheduled, and Next retry in its Delivery details says when. When the retries run out, it moves to Incomplete with its reason.

Reasons a delivery was skipped or failed

A skipped or failed delivery in Outbox shows its reason in Why, in its Delivery details. A sent email that bounces hard or is marked as spam shows its reason there too.

ReasonWhat it meansWhat you can do
Order refundedThe order was canceled or fully refunded before Cevoid sent the emailNone
Skipped by operatorSomeone on your team skipped the deliveryNone
Workflow run cancelledThe flow's run was canceled, or ended, before the delivery was dueNone
Workflow subject unavailableThe order, review, or profile the flow ran for is gone, or the message no longer applies, for example because the customer turned off this kind of emailNone
Profile anonymizedThe customer's profile was anonymizedNone
Provider timed out, Provider rate limited, Provider unavailableA temporary problem at the email provider, Klaviyo, Voyado, or your webhookNone while Cevoid retries on its own. After that, retry it if it's a Klaviyo, Voyado, or webhook delivery
Provider outcome unknownCevoid can't tell whether the delivery arrivedRetry it, if it's a Klaviyo, Voyado, or webhook delivery
Provider authorization failedKlaviyo, Voyado, or your webhook refused the delivery as unauthorizedReconnect Klaviyo or Voyado, or fix your endpoint, then retry the delivery
Invalid delivery payloadCevoid couldn't build the delivery, for example because its email template was deleted, or the receiving service rejected itCheck the action in the flow. This delivery can't be retried, but a webhook delivery can be replayed as a new delivery
Integration target missingThe Klaviyo or Voyado connection is gone, the customer has no Klaviyo profile or Voyado contact, or the webhook destination is gone or inactiveCheck the connection, then retry the delivery
Sending domain not verifiedYour custom sending domain stopped verifying, so Cevoid held the emailFix the domain: see When your domain stops verifying
Email address rejectedCevoid can't send to the address, for example after a hard bounce or a spam complaint, or because the profile's email address changedNone
Email hard bounced, Email complaint receivedThe address rejected a sent email, or the recipient marked it as spamNone. Cevoid sends the address no more emails and cancels the ones scheduled for it

Reviews emails can also stop for reasons of their own. Review requests, reply notifications, and thank-you emails stop with Reviews not included in plan while your workspace has no Reviews plan: see Plans that include Reviews. Review requests also stop for reasons such as Product blocklisted or Reviews monthly order limit reached. For every Reviews reason, see Reasons for skipped and failed requests.

Troubleshooting

Why isn't a delivery in Outbox?

Outbox lists a delivery once a flow schedules it. If the flow's run stopped before the action, for example at a Filter step, or a review request wasn't eligible when the flow reached it, there's nothing to deliver. Open the flow in Settings → Flows: its Runs show where each run stopped.
