Building reports

TermMeaning
MetricWhat a report measures, such as Post impressions or Orders. A report can hold several metrics
BreakdownA dimension that splits a metric into rows, such as Date, Widget, or Profile. A report takes up to two
FilterA condition that narrows the data before it's shown, such as Market is Sweden. A filter only narrows the metrics that support it
VisualizationHow the report is shown: a chart, a single number, a ranked list, or a table
Charted metricThe metric the chart draws, marked Y-axis in the report builder. Every selected metric appears as a column in the table
Default reportA report Cevoid provides in every workspace. You can explore and change it, but only keep your changes by saving them as a new report
Custom reportA report your team created, or saved as new from another report. Anyone in the workspace can edit, rename, or delete it
DashboardA grid of reports that share one date range and comparison
PanelOne report on a dashboard
FavoriteA dashboard pinned to the sidebar under Analytics. Favorites are personal: each team member has their own
Funnel reportA report that lines up steps in order and shows how many get from one step to the next
Closed funnelThe default funnel: a visitor, request, or post counts at a step only after completing the earlier steps, in order
Open funnelA funnel where each step counts on its own, so visitors can enter at any step
ComparisonComparison: Previous period shows each value next to the value for the period just before, of the same length
Report currencyThe currency money metrics are shown in: the report's saved currency, or your workspace's primary currency
Running totalA metric counted from the start of your workspace's history to the end of the period, such as Total posts. Changing the start date doesn't change it
Lifetime metricA metric named "(lifetime)": unique items or people from the start of your workspace's history to the end of the period, such as Uploaders (lifetime)
(not set)The row for items with no value for a breakdown, such as posts without a label
OtherThe row that groups the items outside a chart's top items, when Remaining items is set to Group

Tracking

TermMeaning
EventSomething a visitor does that Cevoid's widgets record, such as viewing a post or clicking a product tag
SessionOne visit to your store. Events in the same session are linked together. With session tracking on, a session lasts until the visitor has been inactive for 30 minutes. Without it, each page view is a session of its own
Session trackingThe workspace setting that lets Cevoid store a session cookie, ca_session, for visitors who allow it
TrackableA visitor whose events carry the session cookie. Only trackable sessions can be linked to an order
ImpressionOne view. A post viewed three times counts three impressions
Popup impressionOne view of a post in the post detail popup
ReachThe number of unique visitors who viewed something, counted as unique sessions
ClapA like on a post. Claps count every press; Post clappers counts unique visitors
Display solutionWhere the interaction happened: Gallery, Card, Program (a loyalty program widget), or API (events your developer sends)
First data dateThe date a metric's data starts in your workspace. Earlier dates in a report show no data for that metric

Orders and attribution

TermMeaning
Synced ordersOrders your connected store sends to Cevoid, such as Shopify or WooCommerce
Sales trackingCompleted orders reported from your checkout: Cevoid's checkout web pixel on Shopify, or a sales tracking call your developer adds on other platforms
Order dataOrders in Cevoid from either source: synced orders, sales tracking, or both. Each order counts once
AttributionLinking an order to the posts a visitor interacted with in the same session before buying
UGC conversion typesHow the visitor interacted with content before buying: Post impression, Popup view, or Product tag click. An order gets every type it had
UGC-attributed orderAn order with at least one UGC conversion type
All orders and attributed ordersOrders counts all orders by default. Broken down or filtered by post, post label, or UGC conversion type, it counts only attributed orders. See Attribution
