Dashboards
Collect reports on a dashboard to follow them side by side, under one shared date range and comparison.
A dashboard is a grid of reports that share one date range and comparison. Each report on a dashboard is a panel, and one dashboard can hold reports from any module. Use dashboards to keep the reports your team checks most often on one page.
Navigate to Analytics → Dashboards to manage your dashboards.
How dashboards work
Dashboards belong to the whole workspace. Everyone on your team sees the same dashboards, and anyone can create, edit, and delete custom ones. Favorites are the only part that's personal.
| Aspect | Description |
|---|---|
| Panels | Each panel shows one report with its saved metrics, breakdown, filters, visualization, Top N, sorting, and currency |
| Date range and comparison | Set once for the whole dashboard. They replace each report's own date range and comparison |
| Default dashboard | UGC Overview, provided by Cevoid in every workspace. It's read-only |
Click Refresh data at the top of a dashboard to reload every panel. Last refreshed shows when the data was last fetched.
A panel whose report needs setup shows what's missing in place of the chart, with a Set up button. See Report requirements. Deleting a report removes its panel from every dashboard.
The UGC Overview dashboard
Every workspace has one default dashboard, UGC Overview. It shows the last 90 days with no comparison, in 11 panels:
- Four metric tiles: Total Posts, Customer Uploads, Post Performance, and the average order value of orders attributed to post impressions
- Two line charts: Total Posts by date and Post Performance over time
- A full-width line chart: Impression Conversions over time
- A donut chart, Total Posts by Content Source, and a bar chart, Post Performance by Widget
- Two tables: Top 24 Performing Posts and Top 24 Impression Conversions
Cevoid favorites UGC Overview for the workspace owner and for every team member who joins, whatever modules your workspace uses. Anyone can unfavorite it. There's no default dashboard for the loyalty program, Reviews, or Profiles.
UGC Overview is read-only: no one can edit, rename, or delete it. You can change its date range and comparison, but only for the page you have open. To build on it, make a copy:
- Navigate to Analytics → Dashboards and open UGC Overview
- Click Duplicate & edit. A copy named UGC Overview (copy) opens.
- Click Edit layout to add, move, resize, or remove panels in the copy
The copy shows the same default reports, and they stay read-only. To change what a panel shows, save its report as a new report and add that one to the copy instead. See Reports.
Favorite a dashboard
Favorite dashboards appear under Analytics in the sidebar, in the order you set. Clicking Analytics opens your first favorite, or the reports list when you have none. Favorites are personal: favoriting a dashboard doesn't change anyone else's sidebar.
- Navigate to Analytics → Dashboards
- Click the star in the dashboard's row. The dashboard appears under Analytics in the sidebar.
You can also click the star next to a dashboard's name on its own page, or select Favorite in its menu.
- Reorder your favorites: Drag a favorite up or down in the sidebar
- Remove a favorite: Click the x next to it in the sidebar, or click its star again
Create a dashboard
A new dashboard starts with no panels, the date range Last 90 days, and No comparison.
- Navigate to Analytics → Dashboards
- Click Create dashboard. A dashboard named Untitled Dashboard opens right away.
- Click More and select Rename
- Enter a name for the dashboard
- Click Save
To add reports, see Edit the layout of a dashboard. To start from an existing dashboard instead, duplicate it: see Rename, duplicate, or delete a dashboard.
Edit the layout of a dashboard
Edit a custom dashboard's layout to add, move, resize, and remove its panels. The default UGC Overview dashboard can't be edited, so duplicate it first (see The UGC Overview dashboard).
- Navigate to Analytics → Dashboards and open the dashboard
- Click Edit layout. The Add reports sidebar opens on the left.
- Click + next to a report to add it as a panel, or drag the report onto the grid
- Optional: Drag a panel by its header to move it
- Optional: Drag a panel's bottom-right corner to resize it
- Optional: Click Auto-layout to pack the panels tightly
- Click Save
Search the Add reports sidebar by a report's name, description, category, or module. A report can be on a dashboard once: reports already added show a check mark instead of +.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| + | Adds the report as a panel |
| Check mark | Removes the report's panel from the dashboard |
| x on a panel | Removes the panel from the dashboard. The report itself stays |
| Auto-layout | Packs the panels tightly, largest first, without changing their sizes. Needs at least 2 panels |
| Reset | Returns the layout to how it was when you clicked Edit layout |
| Cancel | Leaves edit mode without saving your changes |
| Save | Saves the layout |
If you leave the page with unsaved layout changes, Cevoid asks whether you want to leave without saving.
Panel sizes
The grid is 12 columns wide, and panels move up to fill empty space. Every panel is at least 3 columns wide and 2 rows tall. Sizes below are columns × rows.
| Visualization | Size when added | Largest size |
|---|---|---|
| Metric | 3 × 2 | 12 × 12 |
| Line, area, bar, and donut charts | 4 × 8 | 12 × 12 |
| Table, list by dimension | 4 × 8 | 12 × 20 |
| Funnel | 6 × 8 | 12 × 12 |
Add a report to a dashboard from the report
Add a report to a custom dashboard straight from the reports list, without opening the dashboard's edit mode. Add to dashboard appears once your workspace has at least one custom dashboard.
- Navigate to Analytics → Reports
- Click ... in the report's row
- Select Add to dashboard
- Select the dashboard. The report is added at the first free spot, in its visualization's default size.
On an open report, click More and select Add to dashboard instead. Only custom dashboards are listed, and dashboards that already show the report can't be selected.
Set the date range and comparison
Every panel on a dashboard uses the dashboard's date range and comparison, not the report's own. A dashboard starts on Last 90 days with No comparison.
- Navigate to Analytics → Dashboards and open the dashboard
- Click the date range below the dashboard's name
- Select a date range
- Click Apply
- Optional: Select Comparison: Previous period in the comparison dropdown next to the date range
Where the change is kept depends on the dashboard:
- Custom dashboards: Cevoid saves the new date range and comparison to the dashboard right away, for everyone who opens it. There's no Save step.
- The UGC Overview dashboard: The change applies only to the page you have open. Opening the dashboard from the sidebar again shows Last 90 days.
The date range options are the same as in a report: see Set the date range.
Comparison: Previous period shows each value next to the value for the previous period of the same length, which ends the day before the range starts. On a dashboard, every panel follows the dashboard's comparison, whatever its report is set to. Funnel panels ignore it, because funnel reports don't support comparison.
Dashboards have no currency picker. Each panel shows money in its report's currency: the currency saved with the report, or your workspace's primary currency. To change a panel's currency, change it in the report and save the report.
Future and Window ranges
The Future range runs from today forward, and Window covers a period before and after today. Dashboard date ranges offer them when at least one panel's report has a metric that supports future dates. Some loyalty program metrics do, such as Points balance and Total rewards, which project known expirations.
- Future: Panels whose metrics don't support future dates show the error This report doesn't support future dates
- Window: Panels whose metrics don't support future dates show data up to today
When no panel's report supports future dates, Future and Window are disabled.
Open the full report from a panel
A panel's title links to its full report.
- Navigate to Analytics → Dashboards and open the dashboard
- Optional: Hover over a panel's title to see the report's description
- Click the panel's title. The report opens with the dashboard's date range and comparison.
The report doesn't count as modified when it opens this way. If you change its date range there, you change the report's own date range, like any other change to the report.
Rename, duplicate, or delete a dashboard
Manage a dashboard from its menu: ... in its row on the dashboards list, or More on the dashboard's page.
| Option | Default dashboard | Custom dashboards | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Favorite / Unfavorite | Yes | Yes | Adds the dashboard to your sidebar, or removes it. Only your own sidebar changes |
| Rename | No | Yes | Opens Rename dashboard, where you enter a new name and click Save |
| Duplicate | Yes | Yes | Creates a copy with the same panels, date range, and comparison, named after the original plus (copy), and opens it |
| Delete | No | Yes | Deletes the dashboard after you confirm. The reports on it stay |
Delete a dashboard
- Navigate to Analytics → Dashboards
- Click ... in the dashboard's row
- Select Delete
- Click Delete to confirm
Deleting a dashboard can't be undone, and it removes the dashboard from everyone's favorites. The reports on it aren't deleted.
