Rewards are configured within Activities, Tiers, and Purchase incentives. This article covers the available reward types and their settings. All rewards are distributed automatically by Cevoid except for custom rewards, which require manual fulfillment.

Available rewards

The following sections cover each reward type in detail, including available settings and how to set them up. For rewards that involve discount codes, setup differs depending on your integration: Shopify, API, or Manual. Your workspace uses one of these integrations for all discount code rewards.

Points

Points are the foundation of most rewards programs. When members earn points, they’re added to their balance and can be redeemed for rewards in the redeemable rewards. Use points to incentivize purchases, activities, and engagement. Members accumulate points over time and redeem them for discounts, free products, or other rewards you configure. How point amounts work depends on where the reward is used:
  • Activities and Tiers: Fixed amount (e.g., 100 points for completing an activity or reaching a tier)
  • Purchase incentives: Dynamic amount based on purchase value (e.g., 1 point per dollar spent)

Discount code - Amount or percentage off

Discount codes reward members with savings on their next purchase. You can offer either a fixed amount off (e.g., $10 off) or a percentage off (e.g., 10% off). These work well as entry rewards for tiers, activity completions, or as redeemable rewards. When a member earns this reward, they receive a unique discount code to apply at checkout. You control the expiration, usage limits, minimum purchase requirements, and whether it can be combined with other discounts.
When a member earns the reward, Cevoid automatically creates a discount code in your Shopify store through the Cevoid Rewards program Shopify app. The code is then delivered to the member.Available settings
For amount-based discounts, Cevoid presents and creates the code in the currency of the member’s market using today’s exchange rate.
If you have multiple Shopify stores connected, the discount code is created on the store the member is connected to. For redeemable rewards redemptions, the code is created on the store where the member redeems the reward.

Discount code - Free shipping

Free shipping is a strong incentive for members considering a purchase. When a member earns this reward, they receive a discount code for free shipping at checkout. You can optionally limit which shipping rates the discount applies to, preventing it from covering expensive options like express or international delivery.

Free product

Free product rewards let you give members a specific product from your catalog at no cost. This is a high-value reward that works well for top-tier members, major milestones, or as a premium option in the redeemable rewards. When a member earns this reward, they receive a discount code worth the full value of the product. They apply the code at checkout to get the product for free.
The discount is set to the product’s fixed price rather than 100% off. This prevents members from applying the code to a more expensive variant of the same product.

Badge

Badges recognize achievements, milestones, or special status. They add a gamification element to your program and give members something to collect. Members can download their badges from the My Rewards widget. Badges also appear on the member’s posts in UGC popups, showing other customers that the content comes from an engaged community member. See UGC module introduction for more on UGC widgets.

Custom reward

Custom rewards let you offer anything that doesn’t fit the other reward types. Unlike other rewards, these require your team to manually fulfill them. Use custom rewards for exclusive experiences, event tickets, reposting member content on your social channels, or anything else that needs to be handled outside of Cevoid.
