Google Shopping sends your product reviews to Google Merchant Center as a product ratings feed, so Google can show star ratings on your Shopping ads and listings. Cevoid generates and hosts the feed, and you add it in Merchant Center. Google decides how it processes the feed, and whether stars show.

Navigate to [Settings → Syndication → Google Shopping](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/syndication/google-shopping) to manage your product rating feeds.

## How product rating feeds work

A product rating feed is a file of your product reviews in Google's format:

- **One feed per domain:** A feed covers one storefront domain of your active markets, and each domain can have one feed. It holds the product reviews written in that domain's markets, each linked to its product's page there.
- **Fetched daily:** Google downloads the feed once a day from its feed URL, with a username and password that Cevoid creates for it
- **Kept up to date:** Cevoid updates the feed at most once a day when your reviews have changed, and at least every 7 days
- **50 eligible reviews:** Google won't show ratings from a feed with fewer than 50 eligible reviews, so you can only activate a feed once it has 50
- **Product reviews only:** Company reviews aren't sent to Google Shopping

A feed's domains come from your markets in [Settings → Products and markets](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/products-and-markets). See [Products and markets](https://docs.cevoid.com/localization/products-markets.md).

## Create a product rating feed

Create one product rating feed for each storefront domain you want ratings for on Google Shopping.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Syndication → Google Shopping](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/syndication/google-shopping) and click **Create feed**
2. Select a domain in _Publisher domain_
3. Optional: Change the _Feed name_. It starts as _Google Product Ratings_.
4. Click **Create feed**. The feed appears under _Product rating feeds_ as _Draft_.

When every domain already has a feed, **Create feed** is unavailable. Add an active market with another domain, or delete the feed that uses the domain.

## Generate and activate a feed

Activate a product rating feed once Cevoid has generated a valid file with at least 50 eligible reviews. Activating creates the password Google uses to fetch the feed. Cevoid also generates a new feed's file on its own within a day, but **Generate feed** starts right away.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Syndication → Google Shopping](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/syndication/google-shopping) and open the feed
2. Click **Generate feed**. The progress updates on its own.
3. Click **Activate feed** when it shows. Cevoid creates the feed's username and password.
4. Copy the _Password_. Cevoid shows it only once, and it can't be recovered.

With fewer than 50 eligible reviews, the feed shows the count, such as _32 of 50 eligible reviews. Google will not show ratings until you reach 50._, and **Regenerate feed** instead of **Activate feed**. To add the activated feed to Google, see [Add a feed to Google Merchant Center](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/showcase/google-shopping#add-a-feed-to-google-merchant-center).

## Add a feed to Google Merchant Center

Add an activated product rating feed to Google Merchant Center as a scheduled fetch that runs daily. Google then reads the file once a day.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Syndication → Google Shopping](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/syndication/google-shopping) and open the feed
2. Copy the _Feed URL_ and the _Username_ under _Add feed to Google_
3. Open Google Merchant Center and add a product reviews feed as a daily scheduled fetch
4. Enter the feed URL, the username, and the password you saved when you activated the feed
5. Save the feed in Google Merchant Center

After Google's first fetch, the feed shows _Active_ and its _Last Google check_, and _Add feed to Google_ becomes _Google feed details_.

## Feed statuses

The _Status_ column under _Product rating feeds_ shows where each feed stands, and the progress while Cevoid generates the file. Open a feed to see its status with _Generated_, _Eligible reviews_, and _Last Google check_.

| Status | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| _Draft_ | The feed is created, but not activated |
| _Not generated_ | The feed has no valid file yet. Click **Generate feed** |
| _Not enough reviews_ | The feed has fewer than 50 eligible reviews, so Google won't show its ratings |
| _No eligible reviews_ | No review meets Google's requirements yet |
| _Generation failed_ | Cevoid couldn't generate the file. Click **Regenerate feed**, and contact support if it keeps failing |
| _Ready_ | The feed is activated, and waits for Google's first fetch |
| _Active_ | Google fetched the feed with its username and password |
| _Needs attention_ | The feed needs a fix, such as when no password for it works anymore |

## Which reviews go into a feed

A product review goes into a product rating feed when all of these are true:

- It's published and not hidden, and the reviewer's identity is confirmed. See [Verified reviews](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/collect/verified-reviews.md).
- It has text
- It isn't marked as an insider review
- Cevoid's analysis found no profanity, personal information, links to other sites, hate speech, violence, sexual content, or dangerous content in it
- If it came from a review request, it was written within 90 days of the request
- If it was imported, it didn't come from the Amazon or Etsy marketplace
- Its product has a page on the feed's domain

Reviews your team rejected as spam, and published reviews that Cevoid's analysis flags as spam, go into the feed marked as spam, as Google asks. They don't count as eligible reviews.

## Review pages on review\.cevoid.com

Google needs a web address for every review in a product rating feed, so each published product review has a plain page at `https://review.cevoid.com/`, followed by the review's ID. The page lists the review's details as the feed sends them. It's hidden from search engines and isn't part of your store, and you don't need to set it up.

## Change a feed's password

Rotate a product rating feed's credentials when you've lost its password, or think someone else has it.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Syndication → Google Shopping](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/syndication/google-shopping) and open the feed
2. Click **Rotate credentials** next to _Password_
3. Copy the new _Password_. Cevoid shows it only once.
4. Enter the new password in Google Merchant Center

The old password keeps working for 7 days, or until Google fetches the feed with the new one.

## Delete a feed

Delete a product rating feed to stop sending its reviews to Google, or to free its domain for a new feed.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Syndication → Google Shopping](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/syndication/google-shopping) and open the feed
2. Click **...** next to the feed's name
3. Select **Delete**
4. Click **Delete feed** to confirm

> [!WARNING]
> Deleting a feed can't be undone. Cevoid stops serving it right away, revokes its passwords, and removes its files. Remove the feed from Google Merchant Center afterwards.
