# Review blocklist

> Stop collecting reviews for samples, gift cards, and similar products, and hide the reviews they already have.

The review blocklist stops Cevoid from collecting reviews for products you don't want reviewed, such as samples and gift cards. Block one product, or every product in a collection, category, or brand. A blocklist entry can also hide the reviews its products already have.

Navigate to [Settings → Reviews → Review blocklist](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/reviews/blocklist) to manage your blocklist.

## What the review blocklist does

A product on the review blocklist, directly or through its collection, category, or brand, stops collecting product reviews everywhere Cevoid collects them.

| Where | What happens to a blocklisted product |

| Review forms on your store | Shoppers can't submit a review of the product |
| Product page widgets | A widget for a blocklisted product with no ratings shows nothing |

The blocklist covers product reviews only. Company reviews are never blocked or hidden.

## Add a product, collection, category, or brand

Each blocklist entry is one product, collection, category, or brand. A category entry also covers its sub-categories.

**From the review blocklist:**

1. Navigate to [Settings → Reviews → Review blocklist](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/reviews/blocklist)
2. Click **Add to blocklist**
3. Select **Product**, **Collection**, **Category**, or **Brand**
4. Select the target. Type to search for it. Targets the blocklist already covers show _Blocklisted_.
5. Optional: Enable **Also hide existing reviews**. It shows when the target has published reviews.
6. Click **Add to blocklist**

The entry appears in the table, with its _Coverage_: how many products it covers.

**From a product page:**

1. Navigate to [Products](https://app.cevoid.com/products) and open the product
2. Click **More** at the top of the page
3. Select **Add to review blocklist**
4. Optional: Enable **Also hide this product's existing reviews**. It shows when the product has published reviews.
5. Click **Add to blocklist**

The **...** menu on a product's row in [Products](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/products.md#product-actions) has the same option. A blocklisted product shows _Review blocklisted_ in the Products list and _Blocklisted_ on its **Reviews** tab: hover over either to see whether its existing reviews are hidden.

**From a scheduled review request:**

1. Navigate to [Reviews → Requests](https://app.cevoid.com/reviews/requests)
2. Click **Queue**
3. Click the request's row. _Delivery details_ opens.
4. Click **Always skip** followed by the product's name
5. Click **Blocklist and skip**. Cevoid adds the product to the blocklist and skips the request.

## Hide existing reviews

Blocklisting stops new reviews only. To also hide a target's existing reviews, change the entry's _Existing reviews_.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Reviews → Review blocklist](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/reviews/blocklist)
2. Click the dropdown in the entry's _Existing reviews_ column. It reads _Do not hide_ and the number of published reviews, and shows only when the target has some.
3. Select **Hide**. The dropdown reads _Hide_ and the number of reviews.

To show them again, select **Do not hide**.

Hidden reviews keep their content and their moderation status, but leave your store and your ratings. The **Hidden** tab on [Reviews → Product reviews](https://app.cevoid.com/reviews/product-reviews) lists them, with _Product is blocklisted_ under the status. ## Remove a product, collection, category, or brand

Removing an entry lets its products collect reviews again.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Reviews → Review blocklist](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/reviews/blocklist)
2. Click **...** on the entry's row
3. Select **Remove**
4. Click **Remove** to confirm

Reviews the entry hid show again, unless another entry hides them or their product left your catalog. Removing a product's own entry doesn't remove a collection, category, or brand entry that also covers it.

On a product page, **More** shows **Remove from review blocklist** when the product has its own entry, and **View blocklist coverage** when only a collection, category, or brand entry covers it.

## Reviews of products no longer in your catalog

Cevoid hides a product's reviews when the product has no storefront listing left in any market. They're listed on the **Hidden** tab with _Product is no longer in the catalog_, and they show again if the product comes back.

The review's sidebar keeps the product's saved title and SKU. To show the reviews on another product, such as the one that replaced it, move them: see [Move a review to another product](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/manage/review-details.md#move-a-review-to-another-product).
