# Profile properties

> Collect and manage profile data through your loyalty program and review forms, and create custom properties for information specific to your brand.

Profile properties store data about your profiles. Use them to collect information through your loyalty program activities and review forms, build segments, personalize communication, and share data with your integrations.

Navigate to [Settings → Properties](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/properties) to manage your profile properties. The page lists each property with its _Type_, _Visibility_, the number of _Profiles_ that have a value, and its _Fill rate_.

## Default properties

Cevoid provides built-in properties that are commonly used by ecommerce brands. These properties cannot be edited or deleted, and they're always public.

| **Country** | Country | The profile's country |
| **City** | Text | The profile's city |
| **Language** | Language | The profile's preferred language |
| **Birthdate** | Date | The profile's birthdate |

## Custom properties

Create your own properties to collect information specific to your brand. Custom properties can be used in activities to collect data from members, in review forms to collect data from reviewers, and shared to your connected integrations.

### Property types

| Type | Description | Settings |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Choice** | Let members select from predefined options | Single or multi select, display as text or color |
| **Number** | Collect numeric values | Optional _Min value_ and _Max value_ |
| **Height** | Collect height measurements | _Unit_. Metric: Centimeter. Imperial: Foot & Inch |
| **Weight** | Collect weight measurements | _Unit_. Metric: Tonne, Kilogram, Gram, Milligram. Imperial: Pound, Ounce |
| **Length** | Collect length measurements | _Unit_. Metric: Kilometer, Meter, Decimeter, Centimeter, Millimeter. Imperial: Mile, Yard, Foot, Inch |
| **Link** | Collect URLs | Optional _Regex pattern_ for validation |

Every custom property also has a _Visibility_, which decides whether its values can show to shoppers. **Private**, the default, keeps them off your storefront. **Public** lets them show to shoppers, such as in the [UGC popup](https://docs.cevoid.com/ugc/showcase/ugc-popup.md#profile-properties) and with [review answers](https://docs.cevoid.com/profiles/profile-properties#review-widgets).

### Choice property settings

When creating a Choice property, configure how members can select options:

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| _Choice type_ | **Single select** (one option) or **Multi select** (multiple options) |
| _Multi selection_ | For **Multi select**: **Unlimited**, **Exact number**, or **Range** |
| _Display type_ | **Text** or **Color** (color shows a color swatch) |
| _Options_ | The choices available to members |

> [!NOTE]
> Once profiles have a value for a Choice property, its existing options cannot be edited or deleted. You can still add new options and reorder all options.

### Measurement properties

Height, Weight, and Length properties use the _Measurement system_ in [Settings → Workspace](https://app.cevoid.com/settings). Each property's _Unit_ is one of that system's units, and your team sees its values in that unit.

When members enter measurement data through program activities, they enter Weight and Length in the property's unit. For Height, they can switch between centimeters and feet and inches.

When measurement data is displayed to visitors, such as in the UGC popup, it's shown in the measurement system of the market's country.

## Create a custom property

1. Navigate to [Settings → Properties](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/properties)
2. Click **Create property**. _New property_ opens.
3. Enter a name in _Name_
4. Select a type in _Type_
5. Click **Create**. A Height, Weight, or Length property is created, with your measurement system's default unit. For the other types, the property's page opens.
6. Set the property's _Visibility_ and type-specific settings
7. Optional: Disable an integration under _Integration sync_. Every connected integration syncs a new property by default.
8. Click **Create property**

## Edit a property

1. Navigate to [Settings → Properties](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/properties)
2. Click the **...** menu on the property row
3. Select **Edit**. The property's page opens.
4. Make your changes
5. Click **Save changes**

Clicking a property's row opens the same page.

> [!NOTE]
> When active profiles have a value for a property, its settings cannot be changed. For a Choice property, you can still add new options, reorder them, and change _Integration sync_.

## Delete a property

A property that a draft or live challenge or single-task activity uses can't be deleted. _Can't delete property_ lists those activities, so you can remove the property from them first.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Properties](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/properties)
2. Click the **...** menu on the property row
3. Select **Delete**
4. Click **Delete Property** to confirm

You can also delete a property from its page, with **More** → **Delete**.

> [!WARNING]
> Deleting a property removes it from all profiles. This cannot be undone.

## Collect properties

Profile properties are collected through your loyalty program activities and your review forms. Add a **Profile properties** task to a [single-task activity](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/activities/single-task-activities.md) or [challenge](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/activities/challenges.md) to ask members to provide their information.

On your review forms, a profile question asks reviewers for the value of a custom property, such as their height or skin type. The answer is saved to the reviewer's profile and replaces any earlier value. Reviewers whose profile already has a value aren't asked again. Every property type except Link can be asked. ## Use properties

### Segments

Use _Country_, _Language_, and your Choice, Number, Weight, and Length properties as filter criteria when building [segments](https://docs.cevoid.com/profiles/segments.md). For example, create a segment of members in a specific country or with a particular preference.

### Profile page

Profile properties appear in the Profile properties section on each profile's **Overview** tab. Your team can view and edit values directly from the profile page.

### Profiles overview

Custom properties are available as columns in the [Profiles overview](https://app.cevoid.com/profiles). Click **Columns** to add them to your table view.

### Data sharing

Profile properties can be shared with your connected integrations. Enable the integrations you want to sync to when creating or editing a property, or configure data sharing from your integration settings.

### UGC galleries

Public profile properties can show with a creator's posts in the UGC popup of your galleries. See [UGC popup](https://docs.cevoid.com/ugc/showcase/ugc-popup.md#profile-properties).

### Review widgets

Answers to profile questions on your review forms can show with the reviewer's reviews in review widgets whose cards use the **Detailed** style. An answer shows only when the property's _Visibility_ is set to **Public** in [Settings → Properties](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/properties). It's **Private** by default.
