Profile labels let you categorize your profiles freely. Use them to organize your brand community beyond Cevoid's built-in categorizations.

Navigate to [Settings → Labels](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/labels) to manage your labels. The same page holds [post labels](https://docs.cevoid.com/ugc/manage/post-labels.md) and [review labels](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/manage/review-labels.md).

## What you can use profile labels for

- Filter your [Profiles](https://docs.cevoid.com/profiles.md) overview
- Build custom [segments](https://docs.cevoid.com/profiles/segments.md) that use the label as filter criteria

## Create a profile label

**From the Labels view:**

1. Navigate to [Settings → Labels](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/labels)
2. Click **New label**
3. Select **Profile** in _Type_. It's preselected when the **Profiles** tab is open.
4. Enter the name of your new profile label
5. Optional: Click the color button next to the name to add a color or emoji to make your label more visually unique
6. Click **Create**

**From the Profile view:**

1. Navigate to [Profiles](https://app.cevoid.com/profiles) and open a profile
2. Click **Add label** next to _Labels_ under _Profile information_
3. Enter the name of your new profile label
4. Click **New label:** followed by the name. It shows only when no existing label matches the name.

The label is added to the profile. To add an existing label, select it in the same list. To remove a label from a profile, hover over the label and click the **x** on its icon.

## Edit a profile label

1. Navigate to [Settings → Labels](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/labels) and click the **Profiles** tab
2. Click **...** on the label's row
3. Select **Edit**. The _Edit Label_ dialog opens.
4. Change the name, color, or emoji
5. Click **Update**

The _Profiles_ column in the labels table shows how many profiles have each label. To copy a label's ID, click **...** on its row and select **Copy ID**.

## Delete a profile label

Deleting a profile label removes it from every profile that has it.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Labels](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/labels) and click the **Profiles** tab
2. Click **...** on the label's row
3. Select **Delete**
4. Click **Delete** to confirm
