Order settings is where you turn on order sync and check that orders reach Cevoid from every store and market. Cevoid keeps a copy of every order from your connected stores or your own system, and uses it for purchase incentives, review requests, and other features that start from a purchase.

Navigate to [Settings → Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/orders) to manage order sync. The **Settings** button on the [Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/orders) page opens it too.

## How order sync works

What [Settings → Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/orders) shows depends on your workspace's platform.

| Platform | How orders reach Cevoid | What the page shows |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Shopify | Each store sends new and changed orders to Cevoid as they happen | _Sync orders_, _Stores_, and _Import order history_ |
| WooCommerce | Cevoid checks your store for new and changed orders every 5 minutes | _Sync orders_, _Stores_, and _Import order history_ |
| Other platforms and headless setups | Your own system sends each order to the Cevoid API | _Send orders through the API_ and _Markets_ |

- **Live sync** brings in orders as they're placed, and updates them when they're paid, fulfilled, refunded, or canceled. On Shopify, it also brings in deliveries, with [delivery events](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings#enable-delivery-events-on-shopify). To bring in orders from before live sync started, [import order history](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings#import-order-history).
- **On Shopify**, orders sync through one of the Cevoid apps installed on the store. A store with several Cevoid apps still syncs each order once.
- **Markets:** Cevoid matches each order to a [market](https://docs.cevoid.com/localization/products-markets.md) by its storefront domain. When one Shopify store runs several markets, the order's currency picks the market, if exactly one of the store's markets uses that currency.
- **Profiles:** every order with an email address creates or updates the customer's [profile](https://docs.cevoid.com/profiles.md)

| Used by | What orders do for it | Read more |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Reviews | Flows send review requests after an order is fulfilled or delivered, and orders mark reviews _Verified buyer_ | [Review requests](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/collect/review-requests.md), [Verified reviews](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/collect/verified-reviews.md) |
| Loyalty program | Points and tier progress for purchases | [Purchase incentives](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/purchase-incentives.md) |
| UGC | Flows ask customers for photos or videos after an order is fulfilled or delivered | [Ask for an upload after a purchase](https://docs.cevoid.com/ugc/collect/upload-forms.md#ask-for-an-upload-after-a-purchase) |
| Analytics | Sales metrics | [Sales analytics](https://docs.cevoid.com/analytics/metrics/sales-analytics.md) |

To find and open the orders themselves, see [Orders](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/orders.md).

## Turn on order sync

_Sync orders_ turns on live sync for every Shopify and WooCommerce store connected to your workspace. New workspaces start with it off.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/orders)
2. Enable **Sync orders**. Each store shows _Setting up_, then _Waiting for orders_ until its first order arrives, and _Enabled_ once orders sync.

The switch saves right away. To connect a store first, see [Shopify](https://docs.cevoid.com/integrations/ecommerce/shopify.md) or [WooCommerce](https://docs.cevoid.com/integrations/ecommerce/woocommerce.md). Without a connected store, _Stores_ shows _No supported commerce store connected_, and **Connect store** opens [Settings → Integrations](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/integrations).

Disable **Sync orders** to stop live sync for every store. Orders already in Cevoid stay, but orders placed while it's off don't reach Cevoid, so nothing that starts from an order runs for them. While it's off, _Stores_ and _Import order history_ are dimmed.

With a Shopify store connected, a flow that starts on _Order fulfilled_ or _Order delivered_ can be published only while order sync is ready for every Shopify store.

### Enable delivery events on Shopify

Flows that start on _Order delivered_ need delivery events from Shopify, which need more Shopify access than orders do. A store that syncs orders without delivery events shows _Enabled_ with **Enable delivery events**, and its status says _Orders are syncing. Additional Shopify access is needed for delivery events._

1. Navigate to [Settings → Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/orders)
2. Click **Enable delivery events** on the store's card. A dialog lists the access scopes that are missing.
3. Click **Update access scopes**. Shopify opens.
4. Approve the requested access in Shopify. You're redirected back to Cevoid.

Until then, a flow that starts on _Order delivered_ shows _Shopify delivery access required_ in the flow editor. Its **Enable Shopify access** button opens the same approval.

## Check order sync for stores and markets

[Settings → Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/orders) shows a card for each connected Shopify or WooCommerce store, with the markets it serves. Each card shows how many orders arrived through live sync in the last 30 days, and the store's order sync status. Hover over a status to see what it means.

| Status | What it means | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| _Disabled_ | _Sync orders_ is off for your workspace | Enable **Sync orders**: see [Turn on order sync](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings#turn-on-order-sync) |
| _Setting up_ | Cevoid is setting up order sync for the store | Wait, or click **Check status** to see whether it's done |
| _Waiting for orders_ | Setup is done, and no order has synced from the store yet | None: the status changes when the first order arrives |
| _Enabled_ | Orders are syncing | None, unless **Enable delivery events** shows: see [Enable delivery events on Shopify](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings#enable-delivery-events-on-shopify) |
| _Needs setup_ | The store is disconnected, or order sync needs Shopify access the store hasn't approved | Click **Setup**, then approve the access in Shopify or reconnect the store |
| _Needs repair_, _Check failed_ | Cevoid couldn't confirm that order sync works for the store | Click **Check status** |

**Check status**, next to _Stores_, checks every store again and repairs what Cevoid can repair on its own. You can check once a minute. While a check runs, each store and market shows _Checking_. Each store's **...** menu holds **Import order history**, **Check status**, and **Store settings**, which opens the store's integration settings.

A store can also show _Coverage gaps_: periods live sync didn't cover, such as while _Sync orders_ was off. Hover over the badge to see them. To bring in orders from those periods, [import order history](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings#import-order-history).

### Market activity

Under each store, every market it serves shows whether orders arrive for it. Click a market to see its _Last received order_, _Orders last 30 days_, and the _Source_ the orders came from. Only orders from live sync count here, not imported order history.

| Badge | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| _Receiving orders_ | An order for the market arrived in the last 14 days |
| _Stale_ | Orders arrived in the last 30 days, but none in the last 14 days |
| _No recent orders_ | No order for the market arrived in the last 30 days |

Until order sync is ready and orders arrive, the [Loyalty → Purchase incentives](https://app.cevoid.com/program/purchase-incentives) page shows a banner about it, such as _Order sync is disabled_, with a link to _Review order settings_.

## Import order history

Live sync brings in orders placed after it started. To bring in earlier orders from a Shopify or WooCommerce store, import them as order history, for example so that reviews of earlier purchases show _Verified buyer_.

Imported orders:

- Show on the [Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/orders) page, with the _Import type_ _History import_
- Create or update customer profiles, and mark reviews _Verified buyer_
- Never get review requests, and start no flows on their own
- Earn no loyalty points, and don't count toward your [monthly order limit](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/setup/order-limit.md)

An import skips the orders Cevoid already has. You can import from a store once _Sync orders_ is on and the store's live sync is ready, one import per store at a time.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/orders)
2. Click **Import history** under _Import order history_. The _Import order history_ dialog opens.
3. Select the store in _Store_. A store that can't import yet says _Live synchronization is not ready_ or _Import already running_.
4. Set _Import orders since_ to the date to start from. It starts 30 days back, and the import runs up to now.
5. Click **Import history**. The import shows in the list under _Import order history_.

**Import order history** in a store card's **...** menu opens the same dialog, with that store selected.

On Shopify, importing orders older than 60 days needs full order history access. If the store doesn't have it, the dialog shows _Additional Shopify access required_: click **Grant full history access**, then **Update access scopes**, and approve the access in Shopify.

### Follow an import

The list under _Import order history_ shows your latest 10 imports, with the _Store_, the number of _Orders_ imported, the _Status_, and the _Date_.

| Status | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| _Queued_ | The import is waiting to start |
| _In progress_ | Orders are being imported |
| _Completed_ | The import finished |
| _Failed_ | The import stopped with an error |
| _Cancelled_ | The import was canceled before it finished |

Click an import to open _Historical order import_, with the dates it covers, when it started and finished, and the _Error_ for a failed import. To stop an import that's running, click **Cancel**. The orders it already imported stay.

## Send orders through the API

> [!NOTE]
> This setup needs server-side code that sends your orders to Cevoid. If you don't build it yourself, share these steps with your developer.

On other platforms and headless setups, [Settings → Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/orders) shows _Send orders through the API_. Your own system sends each order to the Cevoid API, which is always on: there's no switch to turn on. Order lines are matched to your product catalog, so Cevoid also needs your products, usually from a [product feed](https://docs.cevoid.com/integrations/ecommerce/product-feeds.md).

### Create an API key for orders

1. Navigate to [Settings → Integrations → Cevoid API](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/integrations/api) and click **Create key**. **Manage API keys** on Settings → Orders opens the same page.
2. Enter a name in _API key name_
3. Optional: Set _Expiration_. Expired keys stop working.
4. Under _Permissions_, select **Custom**
5. Set _Orders_ to **Write**
6. Click **Create key**
7. Copy the key. Cevoid shows it only once.

Your system then sends each order to `POST https://api.cevoid.com/v2/orders`, with the key in an `Authorization: Bearer` header and an `Idempotency-Key` header. Include the storefront domain of the order's market, so Cevoid matches the order to that market. _Send orders through the API_ shows these steps with an _Example request body_, and **API documentation** opens the [API reference](https://docs.cevoid.com/developers/api.md). Orders your system sends as historical are handled like an [order history import](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings#import-order-history).

### Check orders per market

Below _Send orders through the API_, _Markets_ lists your markets with the same badges as [Market activity](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings#market-activity). Click **Check status** to update them. Without a market, the page shows _No markets_: click **Go to markets** and create one with your storefront domain before you send orders.

_Unmapped orders_ lists the connections that sent orders in the last 30 days without a domain that matches one of your markets. Add the market's storefront domain to each order, so it's counted for that market.
