# Loyalty setup checklist

> Set up your loyalty program from a new workspace to a live program on your store, with order sync, points, ways to earn, rewards, emails, and widgets.

These steps take your loyalty program from a new workspace to a live program on your store, in the order a new brand takes them.

Cevoid creates your program with your workspace. No switch turns it on: each purchase incentive, activity, reward, and tier works from when you set it live. _Things to do_ on the [Loyalty](https://app.cevoid.com/program) page lists daily work, such as rewards to fulfill, not these steps.

## Create your workspace

Create your workspace from the Loyalty app on Shopify, [Cevoid: Loyalty & Rewards](https://apps.shopify.com/cevoid-engage), or from Cevoid's sign-up page: see [Create your workspace](https://docs.cevoid.com/get-started.md#create-your-workspace).

## Connect your store

Your store brings your products into Cevoid, and your orders once order sync is on.

- **Shopify:** Installing the Loyalty app, [Cevoid: Loyalty & Rewards](https://apps.shopify.com/cevoid-engage), connects your store. If you created your workspace another way, install the app on the same store: it joins the same workspace. Your store's page in [Settings → Integrations → Shopify](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/integrations/shopify) then lists _Loyalty_ under _Installed apps_. - **WooCommerce:** Connect your store in the setup screens, or later in [Settings → Products and markets](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/products-and-markets): see [Connect WooCommerce](https://docs.cevoid.com/integrations/ecommerce/woocommerce.md#connect-woocommerce)
- **Other platforms and headless setups:** Product feeds bring in your products, and your own system sends your orders to the Cevoid API. This needs access to your site's code: if you don't edit it yourself, share [General implementation](https://docs.cevoid.com/integrations/ecommerce/general-implementation.md) with your developer.

## Set up your markets

A market is a version of your storefront with its own domain, language, and currency. Program widgets show each market's language and currency. Manage your markets in [Settings → Products and markets](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/products-and-markets).

On Shopify and WooCommerce, Cevoid creates your first market when you connect your store, and starts syncing it. On other platforms, create it with your storefront's domain and add its product feeds. Create a market for each other version of your storefront, and start each new market's first sync. ## Choose how members log in and join

Your _Authentication_ method decides how members log in to your program widgets, and your _Program opt-in rule_ decides how customers become members. Set both, along with your _Program name_, in [Settings → Loyalty → General](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/loyalty/general).

On Shopify, members can log in with their store account, which needs the Loyalty app and customer accounts turned on in Shopify. Otherwise, they log in with a code Cevoid emails them, or through your own login, which needs server-side code. Under **All customers** and **Store account and program action**, an order can make a customer a member, even before your widgets are on your store.

## Set up your legal policies

Customers who join from your program widgets see your program opt-in consent, so they agree to your terms when they join. If your activities include challenges, they can also show competition terms. Write and publish them in [Settings → Legal](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/legal): see [Activate program opt-in consent](https://docs.cevoid.com/legal/legal-policies.md#activate-program-opt-in-consent) and [Competition terms](https://docs.cevoid.com/legal/legal-policies.md#competition-terms).

## Turn on order sync

Points for purchases and tier milestones come from the orders Cevoid receives. New workspaces start with order sync off.

- **Shopify and WooCommerce:** Enable **Sync orders** in [Settings → Orders](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/orders): see [Turn on order sync](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings.md#turn-on-order-sync)
- **Other platforms and headless setups:** Your own system sends each order to the Cevoid API, with an API key from Cevoid: see [Send orders through the API](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/order-settings.md#send-orders-through-the-api)

Imported order history never earns points: see [Which orders earn points](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/purchase-incentives.md#which-orders-earn-points). Synced orders can also make customers members, depending on your [opt-in rule](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/setup/setup-checklist#choose-how-members-log-in-and-join).

## Set up points

In [Settings → Loyalty → Points](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/loyalty/points), name the points members earn and redeem, add an icon, and set if and when they expire: see [Points](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/setup/points.md). A new program calls them "point" and "points", and they never expire.

- **Points provider:** To keep points in Voyado instead of Cevoid, select **Voyado** once Voyado is connected. Members then can't redeem points for redeemable rewards.
- **Expiration:** Until a member has points, a new expiration method saves right away. After that, a change opens _Update points expiration_ and asks you to confirm.

## Add ways to earn

Members earn points from purchase incentives, and rewards from activities. A new program has neither, so no order earns points until a points per amount spent incentive is live.

- **Purchase incentives:** Create a points per amount spent incentive in [Loyalty → Purchase incentives](https://app.cevoid.com/program/purchase-incentives) and set it live: see [Points per amount spent](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/purchase-incentives.md#points-per-amount-spent). Your [purchase settings](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/purchase-incentives.md#purchase-settings) decide which parts of an order count and when Cevoid processes it.
- **Activities:** To reward actions beyond purchases, such as following your social accounts or sharing content, add single-task activities or challenges: see [Activities overview](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/activities.md)

## Add rewards

Redeemable rewards are what members spend their points on. A new program has none: create each one in [Loyalty → Redeemable rewards](https://app.cevoid.com/program/redeemable-rewards) and set it live. On Shopify, Cevoid creates each discount code in your store through the Loyalty app. On other platforms, you upload the codes Cevoid distributes: see the _Manual_ tab of [Discount code: Amount or percentage off](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/available-rewards.md#discount-code-amount-or-percentage-off).

## Add tiers

Tiers give members entry rewards and perks as they progress. Your program starts with one tier, the entry tier _Member_, which every new member joins. To add levels above it, create ranked tiers in [Loyalty → Tiers](https://app.cevoid.com/program/tiers) and launch them with **Manage tiers**: see [Tiers](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/tiers.md).

## Set up the program emails

Program emails tell members about their tier, their rewards, and points about to expire. Send them from your CRM or from Cevoid.

- **Klaviyo or Voyado:** Enable the program events in your integration, and build the emails there. See [Send program events to your CRM](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/setup/program-emails-and-triggers.md#send-program-events-to-your-crm).
- **Cevoid:** Publish a flow on a program trigger, such as _Tier earned_, with an _Action_ step that sends one of your program's email templates. See [Send program emails with flows](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/setup/program-emails-and-triggers.md#send-program-emails-with-flows).

## Add the program widgets to your store

Program widgets show your program on your store. Cevoid creates them with your workspace, in [Loyalty → On-site widgets](https://app.cevoid.com/program/widgets), where you edit each widget's copy and layout: see [On-site widgets](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/setup/on-site-widgets.md). For where to put them on your store, see [Available widgets and sections](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/setup/on-site-widgets.md#available-widgets-and-sections). Their fonts and colors come from your Loyalty theme, which you can import from your store: see [Import a theme](https://docs.cevoid.com/brandkit/design-theme.md#import-a-theme).

To embed a widget on Shopify, add it in your theme editor with the Loyalty app, or click **Create new page** for the Full landing page. On other platforms, add the Cevoid script for program widgets and the widget's code. See [Embed program widgets](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/setup/embed-program-widgets.md). A widget's card shows _Live_ when it has loaded on your store in the last 10 days.
