Rewards are configured within [Activities](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/activities.md), [Tiers](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/tiers.md), [Purchase incentives](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/purchase-incentives.md), and [Redeemable rewards](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/redeemable-rewards.md). This article covers the available reward types and their settings.

All rewards are distributed automatically by Cevoid except for custom rewards, which require manual fulfillment.

## Available rewards

| Reward | Description | Where it can be used |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Points](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/available-rewards#points) | Points added to the member's balance which can be redeemed for rewards | Activities, Tiers, Purchase incentives. One points reward per single-task activity or tier |
| [Amount off discount code, Percentage off discount code](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/available-rewards#discount-code-amount-or-percentage-off) | Fixed amount (e.g., $10 off) or percentage (e.g., 10% off) | Activities, Tiers, Redeemable rewards |
| [Free shipping discount code](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/available-rewards#discount-code-free-shipping) | Free shipping on their next order | Activities, Tiers, Redeemable rewards |
| [Free product](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/available-rewards#free-product) | A product from your catalog at no cost | Activities, Tiers, Redeemable rewards |
| [Badge](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/available-rewards#badge) | Digital badge for bragging rights, displayed alongside their UGC | Activities, Tiers, Redeemable rewards |
| [Custom reward](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/available-rewards#custom-reward) | Rewards included in your program but fulfilled outside Cevoid, such as tickets or experiences | Challenges, Tiers, Redeemable rewards |

Each discount code type comes in two versions, which you pick when you add the reward: **Unique codes**, where each member gets their own code, and **Same code for all**, where every member gets the same code. Free product codes are always unique. On Shopify, **Same code for all** isn't offered for tier entry rewards or for _Selected winners_ reward groups in challenges.

The following sections cover each reward type in detail, including available settings and how to set them up. For rewards that involve discount codes, setup differs depending on your platform: Shopify workspaces use Shopify codes that Cevoid creates, and every other workspace uses codes you upload (Manual).

## Points

Points are the foundation of most loyalty programs. When members earn points, they're added to their balance and can be redeemed for [redeemable rewards](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/redeemable-rewards.md).

Use points to incentivize purchases, activities, and engagement. Members accumulate points over time and redeem them for discounts, free products, or other rewards you configure.

How point amounts work depends on where the reward is used:

- **Activities and Tiers:** Fixed amount, for example 100 points for completing an activity or reaching a tier. Enter a whole number of at least 1 in _Amount_ (default 10).
- **Purchase incentives:** Dynamic amount based on purchase value, for example 1 point per dollar spent

Points can't be a redeemable reward.

## Discount code: Amount or percentage off

Discount codes reward members with savings on their next purchase. You can offer either a fixed amount off (for example, $10 off) or a percentage off (for example, 10% off). These work well as entry rewards for tiers, activity completions, or as redeemable rewards.

When a member earns this reward, they receive a discount code to apply at checkout. You control the expiration, usage limits, minimum purchase requirements, and whether it can be combined with other discounts.

**Shopify**

When a member earns the reward, Cevoid automatically creates a discount code in your Shopify store through the [Cevoid: Loyalty & Rewards app](https://apps.shopify.com/cevoid-engage). The code is then delivered to the member.

With **Same code for all**, enter the shared code in _Discount code_ or click **Randomize**, then click **Generate discount code in Shopify** before you publish. _Discount code availability in stores_ shows which of your stores have the code.

**Available settings**

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| _Title_ | Name shown to members (e.g., "$10 off your next order") |
| _Custom icon_ | Optional icon for this reward (256×256 px recommended) |
| _Discount value_ | Fixed amount in your workspace currency, or a percentage from 1 to 100. Default 10 (10%) |
| _Discount prefix_ | Unique codes only. Optional prefix for generated codes (e.g., `CEVOID-`), followed by 8 random letters and digits |
| _Discount code_ | Same code for all only. The code every member receives |
| _Code expiration_ | **Code does not expire** (default), **Code expires x months from receiving** (unique codes only), or **Code expires on a specific date** |
| _Maximum discount usage_ | **Limit to one use per customer** (on by default) and, for unique codes, **Limit the amount of times this code can be used in total** (on by default, 1) |
| _Minimum purchase requirements_ | **No minimum requirements** (default), **Minimum purchase amount**, or **Minimum purchase quantity** |
| _Combinations_ | Allow combining with **Product discounts**, **Order discounts**, or **Shipping discounts**. All off by default |

<details>
<summary>How currencies are handled</summary>

Members see the discount amount converted to the currency of their market, rounded. Cevoid creates the code in the currency of the Shopify store it's created on, converted from your workspace currency at today's exchange rate and rounded to a whole number. Minimum purchase amounts are converted the same way.

</details>

<details>
<summary>Multi-store setups</summary>

If you have multiple Shopify stores connected, the discount code is created on the store the member is [connected to](https://docs.cevoid.com/profiles/profile-data-event-sharing.md#what-market-a-profile-is-connected-to). For redeemable rewards redemptions, the code is created on the store where the member redeems the reward.

</details>

**Manual**

Upload your own discount codes that Cevoid distributes to members when they earn the reward. Useful when you're on an ecommerce platform without a native Cevoid integration.

**Available settings**

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| _Title_ | Name shown to members (e.g., "$10 off your next order") |
| _Custom icon_ | Optional icon for this reward (256×256 px recommended) |
| _Discount value_ | Fixed amount with currency (e.g., 10 EUR) or percentage (e.g., 10%) for display |
| _Discount code_ | Your codes. One code for **Same code for all**, or a list for **Unique codes** |
| _Hide discount code after first use_ | Once a member uses the code in an order that syncs to Cevoid, it's no longer visible to them. On by default |

<details>
<summary>Unique vs shared codes</summary>

You choose how codes are distributed when you add the reward:

- **Unique codes:** Each member gets a different code. More secure, but requires uploading enough codes for all members.
- **Same code for all:** All members get the same code. Less work, but risk of leakage if shared publicly.

</details>

<details>
<summary>Code management</summary>

Paste your codes in _Discount code_, separated by a comma or a new line. With **Unique codes**, a code leaves the list when a member receives it. Badges show how many codes are valid, how many are required, and how many are duplicates.

The [program overview](https://app.cevoid.com/program) warns you when fewer than 100 codes are left and when none are left, with **Add codes**.

## Discount code: Free shipping

Free shipping is a strong incentive for members considering a purchase. When a member earns this reward, they receive a discount code for free shipping at checkout.

You can optionally limit which shipping rates the discount applies to, preventing it from covering expensive options like express or international delivery.

**Shopify**

When a member earns the reward, Cevoid automatically creates a free shipping discount code in your Shopify store through the [Cevoid: Loyalty & Rewards app](https://apps.shopify.com/cevoid-engage).

| --- | --- |
| _Title_ | Name shown to members (e.g., "Free shipping on your next order") |
| _Custom icon_ | Optional icon for this reward (256×256 px recommended) |
| _Shipping rates_ | Optionally enable **Exclude shipping rates over a certain amount** and enter the amount in your workspace currency (default 10) |
| _Combinations_ | Allow combining with **Product discounts** or **Order discounts**. Both off by default |

## Free product

Free product rewards let you give members a specific product from your catalog at no cost. This is a high-value reward that works well for top-tier members, major milestones, or as a premium option in the redeemable rewards.

When a member earns this reward, they receive a discount code worth the full value of the product. They apply the code at checkout to get the product for free.

> [!NOTE]
> The discount is a fixed amount, the product's price, rather than 100% off. This prevents members from applying the code to a more expensive variant of the same product.

**Shopify**

When a member earns the reward, Cevoid automatically creates a discount code in your Shopify store through the [Cevoid: Loyalty & Rewards app](https://apps.shopify.com/cevoid-engage). The code applies only to the selected product and is delivered to the member.

**Available settings**

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| _Product_ | Click **Select product** to pick the product from your synced Shopify catalog |
| _Product availability in stores_ | Which of your stores have the product, and how many variants each has |
| _Title_ | Name shown to members (e.g., "Free branded t-shirt") |
| _Custom icon_ | Optional icon (256×256 px recommended). Product image used by default |
| _Discount value_ | Prefilled with the product's price in your workspace currency. You can change it |
| _Prefix_ | Optional prefix for generated codes (e.g., `CEVOID-`) |
| _Code expiration_ | **Code does not expire** (default), **Code expires x months from receiving**, or **Code expires on a specific date** |
| _Maximum discount usage_ | **Limit to one use per customer** and **Limit the amount of times this code can be used in total** |
| _Minimum purchase requirements_ | **No minimum requirements** (default), **Minimum purchase amount**, or **Minimum purchase quantity**. Applies to all products |
| _Combinations_ | Allow combining with **Order discounts** or **Shipping discounts** |

## Badge

Badges recognize achievements, milestones, or special status. They add a gamification element to your program and give members something to collect.

Badges also appear on the member's posts in UGC popups, showing other customers that the content comes from an engaged community member. See [UGC module introduction](https://docs.cevoid.com/ugc.md) for more on UGC widgets.

### Badge settings

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| _Title_ | The badge name, such as "Creator of the month Feb-26" or "Outfit of the year 2025" |
| _Description_ | Optional. Explain what the badge represents or how it was earned |
| _Badge_ | Upload a badge or select one from Cevoid's list |

## Custom reward

Custom rewards let you offer anything that doesn't fit the other reward types. Unlike other rewards, these require your team to manually fulfill them.

Use custom rewards for exclusive experiences, event tickets, reposting member content on your social channels, or anything else that needs to be handled outside of Cevoid. In challenges, the reward picker suggests **Feature on website**, **Repost on socials**, and **Custom reward**.

### Custom reward settings

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| _Title_ | Name shown to members (e.g., "VIP event access" or "Get featured on our Instagram") |
| _Description_ | What the reward includes and what members can expect |
| _Custom icon_ | Optional icon for this reward (256×256 px recommended) |

When a member earns a custom reward, it lands on the _Reward fulfillment_ page as _Unfulfilled_. See [Fulfill a custom reward](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/reward-fulfillment.md#fulfill-a-custom-reward).

## Fulfillment

Every reward a member receives, except points, is listed on the [Reward fulfillment](https://docs.cevoid.com/loyalty/rewards/reward-fulfillment.md) page with its status, and on the **Loyalty** tab of the member's [profile](https://docs.cevoid.com/profiles.md#loyalty-tab). Cevoid fulfills most rewards automatically. Use the page to fulfill custom rewards, retry failed rewards, and cancel redeemed rewards.
