Product feeds sync your product catalog with Cevoid, enabling product tags on posts, product-based galleries, and product reviews. Use product feeds when your store isn't on Shopify or WooCommerce: they're available in workspaces set up with **Other** as their integration. The products a feed syncs show in [Products](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/products.md). On another platform or a headless setup, feeds are one part of the [general implementation](https://docs.cevoid.com/integrations/ecommerce/general-implementation.md).

Navigate to [Settings → Products and markets](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/products-and-markets) to configure your feeds.

> [!NOTE]
> Adding a feed needs a product feed URL in XML, CSV, or TSV. If you don't have one, share this article with your developer: the field mapping and the example show what the feed needs.

## Add a product feed

Each product feed belongs to a market. To add a feed to a new market, create the market first: see [Create a market](https://docs.cevoid.com/localization/products-markets.md#create-a-market).

### Connect the feed

1. Navigate to [Settings → Products and markets](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/products-and-markets)
2. Click **...** on the market's row and select **Edit**
3. Click **Add product feed** under _Product feeds_
4. Enter your feed's URL in _Feed URL_
5. Select its _File format_: **XML**, **CSV**, or **TSV**
6. Optional: If your feed is password-protected, click **Authentication** and enter both its _Username_ and _Password_. Cevoid sends them with HTTP basic authentication.
7. Click **Connect to Feed**. A preview of your feed shows, and Cevoid fills in the mappings it recognizes.

### Name and map the feed

1. Enter a name in _Feed Name_, if Cevoid didn't fill it in from your feed
2. Map each field to a column in your feed: see [Field mapping](https://docs.cevoid.com/integrations/ecommerce/product-feeds#field-mapping)
3. Click **Create feed**

The market then waits under _Markets ready to sync_ in Settings → Products and markets until you start its sync: see [Sync a new market](https://docs.cevoid.com/localization/products-markets.md#sync-a-new-market). After that, it syncs automatically.

## Field mapping

Once a product feed is connected, a preview of the feed displays. Map your feed fields to Cevoid's values.

| Field | Required | Description | Used for |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| _Id_ | Yes | Unique identifier for each product variant | Connects products across markets so you only tag once |
| _Title_ | Yes | The product name | Displayed in product tags |
| _Link_ | Yes | URL to the product page | Where visitors go when clicking a product tag |
| _Price_ | Yes | Price, with or without currency symbol (the symbol is removed at import) | Displayed in product tags |
| _Image Link_ | Yes | Primary product image | Displayed in product tags |
| _Item group ID_ | No | Groups product variants together. It's under _Other Settings_ | Product tagging, product page gallery fallback, and reviews, which a product's variants share |
| _Additional Image Link_ | No | Secondary product image | Shown on hover over product tag |
| _Sale Price_ | No | Discounted price if on sale | Displayed alongside regular price |
| _Availability_ | No | Stock status | Hide out-of-stock products |
| _Category_ | No | Hierarchical categories, separated by `>` or `/`, or by `→`, `\|`, or `-` with a space on each side | Tagging filter, Library filter, category page galleries |
| _Collection Mappings_ | No | Feed columns whose values become the product's collections, with several collections in one column separated by commas | Tagging filter, Library filter, collection page galleries |
| _Variant Options_ | No | Options like color and size, with one feed column per option | Variant selection when tagging, product page gallery fallback |
| _Brand_ | No | The product's brand | Brand review widgets, rich snippets, and product rating feeds |
| _Gtin_ | No | The product's GTIN: its UPC, EAN, or ISBN | Matching the product across connections, rich snippets, and product rating feeds |
| _Mpn_ | No | The manufacturer part number | Matching the product across connections with _Brand_, rich snippets, and product rating feeds |
| _Sku_ | No | The product's SKU | Matching the product across connections, rich snippets, and product rating feeds |

> [!TIP]
> _Item group ID_ is strongly recommended because it groups product variants together for better tagging and fallback behavior. If you don't provide _Item group ID_, Cevoid analyzes URL paths to create groupings automatically.

Reviews uses the same products: the variants Cevoid groups into one product, by _Item group ID_ or by URL path, share their reviews. [Google Rich Snippets](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/showcase/google-rich-snippets.md) and [Google Shopping](https://docs.cevoid.com/reviews/showcase/google-shopping.md) product rating feeds need only each product's title and link. Cevoid adds the GTIN, MPN, SKU, and brand from _Gtin_, _Mpn_, _Sku_, and _Brand_ when you map them. Google matches the reviews in a product rating feed to your products best by GTIN.

### Use the mapping from your default market

A feed in any market other than your default market can take its mapping from the default feed: the first feed in your default market. Enable **Use mapping from primary market** under _Mapping Sync_ when you add or edit the feed. A new feed starts with it enabled once your default market has a feed. The feed then uses the default feed's field mappings, _Item group ID_, variant options, collections, and searchable fields. To change them, click **Open default feed** and edit the default feed.

### Additional searchable fields

Under _Additional searchable fields_, click **Add field to search** to make the values of up to 3 more feed columns searchable, such as an article number. Products can then be found by these values when you search for a product to tag. Columns used for the ID, title, link, description, images, price, or categories can't be added.

## Edit or remove a feed

Each product feed belongs to a market, and you edit or remove it from that market's settings.

1. Navigate to [Settings → Products and markets](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/products-and-markets)
2. Click **...** on the market's row and select **Edit**
3. Click the feed's row under _Product feeds_, or **Edit** in its **...** menu. _Edit feed_ opens, with the feed's settings and mapping.
4. Click **Save changes** once you've made your changes. They apply from the feed's next sync.

To remove a feed, click **...** on the feed's row in step 3, select **Delete**, and click **Remove** in the _Remove this feed?_ dialog. Cevoid permanently deletes the feed's settings, and the products it synced stay in Cevoid.

## Feed statuses

The _Status_ column in a market's _Product feeds_ section shows how each feed's sync went:

| Status | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| _Syncing_ | The feed is syncing now |
| _Synced_ | The feed's last sync finished |
| _Synced with warnings_ | The last sync skipped products without an ID, and kept only one product for each ID that several products share: hover over the status for the details |
| _Error_ | The feed couldn't sync: hover over the status to see why, when it last failed, and how many times in a row it failed |
| _Not synced_ | The feed hasn't synced yet |

After 10 failed syncs in a row, Cevoid stops syncing the feed's market automatically, and the market waits under _Markets ready to sync_ on [Settings → Products and markets](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/products-and-markets). Fix the feed, then start the market's sync there, as in [Sync a new market](https://docs.cevoid.com/localization/products-markets.md#sync-a-new-market). After that, the market syncs automatically again.

## FAQ

### What format should feeds be in?

Google Shopping feed schema is most common, but Cevoid supports custom field names that you map during setup.

### What file formats are supported?

XML, CSV, or TSV, at most 250 MB per feed.

### Can we have multiple feeds per market?

Yes. Add multiple feeds if your catalog is split across files. Usually one is enough.

### What if we modify our feeds?

All fields except product ID can be remapped freely. Changes apply after the next product sync. Cevoid syncs each feed about once a day, and when you click **Sync products** in [Settings → Products and markets](https://app.cevoid.com/settings/products-and-markets): see [When products sync](https://docs.cevoid.com/orders-products/products.md#when-products-sync).

> [!WARNING]
> Product tags are connected to the product ID. Contact Cevoid support before remapping the ID field.
